October 28, 2020: Press talk marking the launch of the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden
The Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden serves as a lively forum and innovative testing ground for forward-thinking discourse between science, art and society. It also befits TU Dresden’s Excellence Strategy, functioning as a platform and junction for interdisciplinary research partnerships.
A press talk was held on October 28, 2020 to launch the program, featuring the following representatives:
- Kirsten Vincenz, Director of TU Dresden’s Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections
- Prof. Lutz Hagen, Director of TU Dresden’s Institute of Media and Communication
- Ingo Smit, Chairman of the Management Board of THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION
- Christian Kosmas Mayer, the Lab’s 1st artist in residence
In line with Covid-19 health & safety precautions, the event welcomed a limited number of attendees in person in the permanent exhibition at the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections – others took part online over Zoom.
August 17, 2020: Press conference with newly appointed Rector Professor Ursula M. Staudinger
On August 18, 2020, Professor Ursula M. Staudinger assumed the position of Rector of TU Dresden. At a press conference one day prior, she shared with us her vision and her aims for TU Dresden in the coming five years. She also introduced her new Extended University Executive Board.

July 17, 2020: Press conference with Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen at the end of his term
