What is the "Orientation Platform Research & Practice" ?
The formats of the"Orientation Platform Research & Practice" (German abbrev. OFP) offer insights into potential fields of work in companies and research institutions. The spectrum of our services ranges from team challenges, workshops, excursions and project weeks to large lecture events. Participation pays off twice: you not only gain practical experience, but can also earn credit points for many OFP events.

Our Formats
During the "All you can ask" discussion, you have the opportunity to ask questions to a group of representatives from practice. The speakers report on their own personal careers and give tips on career choice, career entry and many other topics.
In the "Chapter Practice", teachers give a lecture together with practice partners. You will learn which theoretical contents of the lecture can be used to solve present practical problems. Make your own suggestions and discuss them in the auditorium.
Visit the location of a practice partner and get to know the business or research institute first-hand. You can test and apply your theoretical knowledge using a real-life case study.
In the "Practice Forum“, you have the opportunity to present your student research project or thesis in a short project pitch. Afterwards there will be an open poster discussion with fellow students, teachers and company representatives where you can exchange ideas and get feedback.
Representatives from business and research practice come to your university and present their current projects. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to discuss real-life, professional problems with other students and speakers from practice.
Are you in 11th grade and interested in studying at TU Dresden? Are already studying in the 1st semester and would like to gain some hands-on experience? Then the project week "BeING Inside" is the perfect place for you. During the project week, you will work in an interdisciplinary team on a problem from company practice. The results will be presented at the end of the project week: The best team of pupils and the best team of students will be awarded a prize!
Solve current practical problems together with other students. A company representative will assist you while you are working on the tasks.
Experience and organise your first conference as a guest, chairperson, spokesperson, or part of the Programme Committee.
"Rookie becomes an Engineer" offers you exciting insights into professional life: Representatives from the industry will present their career paths and areas of responsibility. Afterwards, you can exchange ideas with other participants and the speakers at round tables.
"Step in Science" and get exciting insights into current research fields at the workplace of professors and employees of your faculty as well as selected DRESDEN-concept institutions.

Work together with other students on a complex practical problem. It pays to be innovative: there is a prize for the team with the best solution!
Discuss different aspects of a central question with teachers and company representatives. Keynote speakers from research and/or industry will open the event. The aim of the Think Tank is to collect, develop and exchange ideas!

The project "Orientation Platform Research & Practice" (German abbrev. OFP) is financed within the framework of the Higher Education Pact with funds from the Federal Government and the Free State of Saxony.
The OFP is a sub-project of the overall concept to increase the success of studies at TU Dresden.
