Scholarships
A main component of the association's support activities is to award scholarships to TU Dresden students and doctoral candidates. The association promotes both university-wide programmes and its own scholarship formats. Please refer to our general guidelines for the GFF graduation scholarship.
In the framework of the National Scholarship Programme of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the GFF has been participating since 2011 in providing support to TU Dresden students with excellent academic achievements, a high degree of societal commitment, and major personal challenges. The association focuses on supporting students in teacher training, especially in STEM subjects as well as in humanities and social sciences.
For the 2019/2020 academic year, the GFF has for the first time awarded scholarships for new students who will start their studies at TU Dresden in October 2019 in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The German equivalent to STEM is MINT, hence the name of the scholarship. Scholarship holders must have completed their university entrance qualifications at a MINT-EC school in Saxony and must have obtained a MINT-EC certificate during their school years. In 2020, the scholarships will be advertised throughout Germany.

The GFF supports students and doctoral candidates in the final phase of their qualification. For a period of up to 6 months, scholarships are awarded that enable the scholarship holders to focus fully on completing their studies.
A scholarship funding is only possible for students and doctoral candidates in the final phase of their qualification or with very good performances.
Please note that we only grant scholarships until the submission. The time between submission and defence will be not supported.
