Diversity Days 2022 "10 years of diversity management - making a difference together"
The TU Dresden is a meeting point for the diversity of life situations - both those of students and employees. In order to make the diversity of life situations at our university visible and also tangible for everyone, the Diversity Days take place annually under the leadership of the Diversity Management Department. DIFFERENT, SOMEHOW - Diversity short films from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Filmstill from the film: Juck; Director: Olivia Kastebring, Julia Gumpert, Ulrika Bandeira; 2018
Description:
As part of TU Diversity, you can expect an exciting evening at Programmkino Ost with selected short films that address questions about the intersectional entanglements of various diversity dimensions by provocatively questioning the limits of norms as well as normative behavior in societies. Endless questions about origins, the feeling of being different, an ambivalent search for community: the short film program ANDERS, IRGENDWIE shows how diverse society is, but also how normative society can be. FILMFEST DRESDEN presents five short films, including award winners from 2019 (IKTAMULI and JUCK) and 2021 (YALLAH HABIBI), which are sometimes quick-witted and provocative, sometimes quiet and abstract, but always dedicated to the diversity of society. How do we react when appearance pushes the boundaries of what we are used to? Are we able to accept people as they are? How do we define ourselves when everyone is the same? The films will be shown in the original with German subtitles, and an audio description will be provided by Filmfest-Dresden. The films will be accompanied by a moderation by Susanne Braun (moderator, theater scientist) and an expert talk with Katharina Klappheck, (scientist and activist), she is responsible for the project "Cinema without Barriers" of Filmfest-Dresden and will add further thoughts on the topics of diversity, low barriers and equality in a talk. Questions and discussions from the audience are encouraged. The film talk will be translated into German sign language. Admission is free, so we would be happy if you also bring friends to the event.
Location: Programmkino Ost, Schandauer Str. 73, 01277 Dresden, Germany.
