FAQ`s dgti supplementary identity card: Technical questions
In SAP and CampusNet "diverse" can be set as gender entry. In IDM, this information cannot yet be implemented when creating a user person in the IDM frontend of SD. Here the information is treated like "No specification".
In SAP and CampusNet, the entry for gender can be left blank. However, since the gender entry is identity-forming for IDM, it must be translated to a value equivalent to "No specification". This is guaranteed.
Salutations can be assigned to specific entries in SAP and CampusNet. In IDM, the assignments female and male are addressed with "Dear Ms." and "Dear Mr." respectively. "No specification", the representative value for empty and "diverse", on the other hand, leads to the salutation "Good day First name Last name". The ticket system of the Service Desk is based on the IDM.
When a name change is reported to IDM via SAP or CampusNet, a new email address is formed in IDM and usually set as the new primary alias so that you are automatically associated with the correct address. However, you must apply for any required certificates on your own. Your display name in MS Exchange (⇒), on the other hand, is set automatically. If you are a guest, you must report the name change to the Service Desk so that ZIH can make the change in IDM.
Login names are not changed by name changes.
University-wide, changes are implemented at approximately the same time. A change in SAP or CampusNet usually takes a maximum of 24 hours until it is also implemented in IDM and delivered to the receiving systems.
Use the self-service portal of the TU Dresden for this purpose. As a student:in you can also use the selma for the verification.
Note: In the following you will find an explanation of various administrative systems of the TU Dresden, which are referred to in the technical questions.
SAP is the inventory-managing system for personnel data. The information for TU Dresden employees is recorded there. The data from SAP leads to the printing of contract documents and is reported to the salary office. Thus, SAP is an administrative system in which personal data of employees are located.
CampusNet is the software behind selma. It is the counterpart to SAP for student data.
IDM stands for Identity Management System. The ZIH manages the data of all users of the TU Dresden (employees, students and guests). In order to map an identity in the IDM, a so-called user object (user data record or information behind the ZIH login) is required. It is determined by name, first name, place of birth, birthday and gender. These five characteristics are identity-forming. The e-mail address is formed from the first name and the name.
User objects for employees are created based on SAP data, those for students based on CampusNet data. Guests are created manually in the Service Desk. For this purpose, the Service Desk has a web page where the necessary entries can be made (IDM frontend of SD).
