Professorial Appointments: How do I prepare for an appointment process?

Content:
At some point, the time has come. You are applying for a professorship. You will be invited and have to present all your scientific competence and personality.
This workshop will have a closer look at the process and the written and unwritten rules of appointment procedures at German universities as well as on the content and style of your application documents (please bring a draft of your CV). Participants reflect the meaning and typical questions in context of scientific talk, demonstration lesson and interview with the appointment committee. The workshop will also give comprehensive information and hints on negotiations for professorial positions (e.g. facilities, salary). In the aftermath, participants are invited to work on their application in an individual coaching session.
Profile Trainer:
Dr. Patricia Grünberg received her Dr. degree in Communication Science from University Leipzig and conducted an additional master in Human Resources Development at Technical University of Kaiserslautern. After several years as research associate, she worked in science management of University Hamburg. As Career Development Manager at the Cluster of Excellence cfaed, she specialized in appointment processes, the graduate support program, and in career advice. Since 2018, she has been involved in the set-up of the new research institute Barkhausen Institut in Dresden.
