UNI LIVE - tough women in STEM studies
The event series "Tough Women in STEM Studies" will again be present with a total of three events in 2017 to inform women about STEM courses and the various job opportunities.
The events enable female pupils and students to gain insights into selected STEM disciplines (civil engineering and traffic engineering, mathematics and physics, engineering sciences). Lecturers from these areas will report on their study decision, their experience gained during the studies and their successful career start and advancement. Female students, scientists and successful experts from practice will be available to the participants for discussions after the event.

Prof. Dr Ing. Martina Zimmermann
(Professorship for Material Testing and Characterisation and Head of the group of Material Characterisation at the Fraunhofer Institute) >>If I were to study again, I would again face the dilemma that there are just too many fields, which I take an interest in; beginning with technology, natural sciences, foreign languages through to communication psychology.<<
Henriette Raue (student of Regenerative Energy Systems)>>Apart from my interest in renewable energies, I have chosen the course of study because of the topicality of energy revolution and the related need for engineers. <<
Almut Sürmann (techno-mathematician)>> Medical engineering, software development, bioprocess engineering and finance: As a techno-mathematician, I have worked in a wide range of different fields yet during my studies - this interdisciplinarity is so much fun! <<
Further speakers are: student Nicole Filz, Master's degree in computer science,
Carola Steinborn (mechanical engineering) - project manager at Item24
