Windows Phone 8.1 Configuration as Client for Exchange

The following instructions have been created and tested on a Nokia Lumia 730 with Windows Phone 8.1
Requirements:
- Smart phone with Windows Phone 8.1 with active wifi or a mobile Internet connection
- ZIH-login with exchange account
- Using standard apps for e-mail client and calendar
General Information:
- Exchange server: msx.tu-dresden.de
- Username: ZIH-login
- Password: ZIH- password
- Exchange e-mail address: ZIH-Login@msx.tu-dresden.de
Further notes:
- All of their calendars in the exchange account are accessible to the user
- Accessing public calendars is currently only possible in a browser via OWA
- Accessing public files and the online archive is not possible
Account set up

Swipe left from your start screen to the menu screen. There choose Settings.
Now go to e-mail contacts and other settings.
Now select Add Account.
Select Exchange as account type.
Give your exchange e-mail address in the following format:
<ZIH-Login>@msx.tu-dresden.de
You will then be asked for the password to your exchange account.
By completing the account settings on Log In you accept the below mentioned Terms and Conditions.
Deleting content and settings from your phone serves purposes of data security in case of loss and will only be carried out after consulting with the exchange administrators of ZIH of TU Dresden.
A successful account set up will be confirmed by the following display.
The newly set up exchange account will now appear as a symbol in the Windows Phone menu. Thus, the account set up is complete.

For faster access and updates on the running inboxes, we recommend you add the exchange account icon to your home screen.
Choose the symbol for the set-up exchange account.
To open the context menu, long-tap the symbol for the set-up exchange account and select on home screen.
To change more synchronisation settings, open the set-up exchange account via its symbol.

Select Properties to get to account settings.
On the page displayed now, you will be able to make changes to your text signature as well as signature and certificate-based encryption.
You can change the settings of data synchronisation and time frames by selecting synchronisation settings.
Changing the name of your set-up exchange account can also be done here.
From the previous Settings menu, choose automatic replies to activate or create absence notes.
Calendar Settings
To change the selection of calendars displayed in the standard calendar app, please open Calendar

Select Properties to get to the calendar settings.
Find the name of your exchange account. There you will find all associated calendars. By ticking and un-ticking the individual calendars, you can change the calendar app’s display.
