Exporting the Certificate from Mozilla Firefox
Open Extras -> Settings -> Advanced (gear icon) -> Encryption and click on the Display certificates button:

Please choose the tab Your Certificates in the window below. There, click on the personal certificate you wish to save:
Save the PKCS#12 (ending in .p12) file in your network or USB device, to have a backup of your key pair in case of a computer defect:
[File name for backup, File name, File type, Search files]
The .p12 file can only be saved with password encryption. Remember the password well, since you can only use the key par with this password.

The certificate-backup-password you determine here will protect the backup file you are creating here. You need to determine the password to continue the backup.
Please note: If you forget your certificate-backup-password, you cannot recreate it at a later date. Please write it down in a secure place.

The PKCS#12 file (or .p12 file) thus created can now be used to integrate your certificate into your e-mail programmes or to transfer it to your other computers. In MS Windows e.g., all you need is to double-click on this file (as well as Import… and several clicks on OK) to make the certificate known to the system and, at the same time, to use it in Outlook.
