Research Interests
Until my MSc, my research centered around the physics of morphogenesis of cells and tissues. In particular I was interested on the understanding of self-organizing processes taking place in living matter. Within my PhD I am interested in the below-ground interactions within mangrove populations. For this we develop a coupled groundwater-tree population model to investigate self-organization processes within mangrove forests.
Projects
- since 2018: MARZIPAN - Adopting mangrove vegetation zonation patterns to gain information on subsurface aquifer structures and advance below-ground plant competition concepts in individual-based modelling (German Research Foundation - DFG)
Have a look at the MARZIPAN project in our research overview

- 2017 MSc in theoretical Biophysics at Dresden University of Technology
- 2011 – 2017 Student of Physics at Dresden University of Technology
