INTERREG Poland – Saxony 2014-2020
The cooperation programme INTERREG Poland – Saxony 2014-2020 is intended to contribute to the improvement of life quality for residents in the programme area. It is also intended to contribute to the economic and cultural development as well as to preserving the region’s natural and cultural heritage.
Within the framework of the Cooperation Programme Poland – Saxony 2014-2020 four thematic objectives were elected. Those objectives are consistent with crucial developmental problems and challenges in the Polish-German area. In this context four priority axes were developed:

Priority Axis I – Common natural and cultural heritage
- Investment Priority: conservation, prevention, advancement, and development of natural and cultural heritage
- Specific Objective: increase of amenity in the programme area by means of maintenance and conscious usage of the common natural and cultural heritage’s potential
- Priority Axis II – Regional mobility
- Investment Priority: development of regional mobility by means of connecting derivative and tertiary nods to the TEN-V-infrastructure, including multimodal points
- Specific Objective: improvement of road link quality leading to border crossings
- Priority Axis III – Cross-border education
- Investment Priority: investment in education, training and vocational training for gaining expertise and lifelong learning; development and implementation of corporate programmes for general and vocational education, and vocational training
- Specific Objective: Connecting and expanding common German-Polish learning opportunities
- Priority Axis IV – Partner co-operation and institutional potential
- Investment Priority: improvement in institutional capacities of public offices and stakeholder as well as the efficient public administration by means of supporting collaboration in terms of judicial and administrative subjects between citizen and institution
- Specific Objective: increase of institutional and cooperative collaboration between citizens and institutions in all aspects of public life in favour of border area development

Cooperation:
At least one German partner and one Polish partner work together in one project.
Responsibility:
One partner must act as a so-called “Lead Partner” and therefore takes responsibility for the realization of the project.
Programme Area:
The programme area is firmly defined in the programme documents. Participating areas in Germany are the administrative districts of Görlitz and Bautzen. Participating areas in Poland are the sub-region of Jelenia Góra and the administrative district of Żarski. Co-operation partners do not necessarily have to be located in the programme area itself, however the project must have an immediate effect in the given programme area. The project should also make a sustainable contribution to the development of the border region.
Funding rate:
Up to 85% of eligible (direct) costs can be funded from EFRE. The other 15% have generally to be realized as co-financing.
ELIGIBLE GERMAN Applicants
The Lead Partner and project partners should belong to one of the following categories:

National, regional and local administration units, associations formed by them and subordinated institutions
- Bodies governed by the respective public or private law
- Non-governmental non-profit organizations, social and economic partnership associations and organizations in accordance with the respective national law
- Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) under priority axes I, III or IV, provided that the activities within the project are carried out for the public benefit. SMEs are not entitled to be Lead Partners.
