The training nuclear reactor is an integral part of the professorship for hydrogen and nuclear energy technology at the TU Dresden and contributes significantly to the maintenance of competence - both in cooperation with other colleges and universities as well as with industry - in Germany. As zero-power reactors, training nuclear reactors such as the AKR-2 are excellently suited to demonstrate reactor-physical relationships in a complex way and to make them tangible in experiments. In this way, they complement theoretical teaching and, by training specialist nuclear personnel, make an important contribution to maintaining and improving know-how and competence in nuclear technology. Basic experiments in reactor and nuclear physics are performed for students of nuclear power engineering, physics, physics and mathematics teaching, industrial engineering, medical faculty and in the Studium Generale for all other interested students of the university. Since only a few universities and colleges have their own training reactors, students from the region and from all over Germany are welcome participants in the practical courses. The AKR-2 is not only a real student attraction at the TU Dresden, but also attractive for the qualification and further training of employees from the nuclear industry or other specialized institutions in the field of reactor physics, reactor control technology and radiation and neutron flux measurement technology, not least because it is equipped with the TELEPERM XS digital control system. |
