innovative energy technologies
The teaching and research field “innovative energy technologies” is dedicated to
- the development of flexible conversion technologies for the efficient transfer of volatile surplus reserves into various forms of energy (e. g. power-to-methanol, power-to-heat, heat-to-power) and
- the development of innovative storage technologies for the short, medium and long-term energy supply (chemical / thermal).
Particularly noteworthy are the competencies in the field of
- the technical implementation of different plant concepts with associated measuring and control technology,
- process engineering - especially with regard to chemical process and plant technology as well as energy and system technology,
- the thermo and fluid dynamic modeling and optimization of high temperature processes and multiphase flows in complex geometries,
- laser-based joining technologies, surface structuring and coating in the high-performance laser laboratory of the professorship and
- the material science study in the analysis laboratory of the professorship as well as the application in corrosive and abrasive media.
Details of the current research activities can be found in the individual projects.
Experimental and theoretical work is part of the students' education as part of student research or employment as student assistants. Current tasks and calls for student assistants can be found here. In addition, individual topics can be worked out between the student and the professional supervisor.
