Research into teacher education
The ZLSB’s portfolio of accompanying research into teacher education comprises empirical studies regarding different stages of the professional biography of prospective teachers - from the beginning of their studies to exmatriculation (withdrawal from the register of students) and into the preparatory service (teacher traineeship) and professional practice. In doing so, the ZLSB focuses on both undergraduate two-phase teacher education and alternative routes into the teaching profession (lateral entry).
In the spirit of accompanying research, the research activities of the ZLSB are closely linked to development projects in the context of teacher education.
The ZLSB devotes its research activities primarily to those questions related to teacher education and the teaching profession that are not focused on in the educational sciences and individual subject didactics at TU Dresden (lateral entry, student recruitment, learning requirements, competence development, quality assurance in teacher training degree programs, etc.).
