Profile
Architecture and Landscape Architecture are uniquely creative professions. Just as architecture is part of a landscape, so does a designed environment form the horizon of housing and buildings. Any student who is able to study both of these in the special urban and river landscape of Dresden is to be envied. Architecture is fascinatingly diverse: your hands and mind must be in tune with each other. These courses therefore develop both manual, creative and mental skills. The Faculty's teaching staff consists of successful architects and landscape architects, as well as reputable scientists and researchers. Together, these versatile teaching professionals and their disciplines form the basis of this diverse study programme. Students who graduate from our Faculty will have acquired broad-based knowledge and experience, enabling them to professionally apply their design skills to many areas of society.
As well as the traditional architecture training that is the focus of the Bachelor of Architecture and Masters in Landscape Architecture, other study and research core areas are also on offer, such as existing buildings and sustainable urban development, reuse of brownfield sites, environmentally-friendly construction and renovation, as well as scenarios for future living and working.
It is important to us to maintain good relations with overseas universities offering student and lecturer exchange programmes, joint design seminars, summer schools and excursions. Around 40 percent of all students complete part of their studies at an overseas university.
