Shaping a sustainable school landscape: Climate-resilient learning location Dippoldiswalde
You can expect an exciting collaboration with the student teachers from the Chair of Geographic Education. Together we want to plan learning and teaching in a new and sustainable way:
The "Glück Auf" grammar school in Dippoldiswalde has an adjoining plot of land at its disposal on which several smaller projects for learning and sports facilities have already been realized - but without an overall design concept. Now the last part of this plot, approx. 3,200 m², is to be developed as an extracurricular and educational learning and meeting place. For example, smaller arable areas, fruit trees (e.g. in the form of a meadow orchard) and a PV-powered greenhouse are being considered. Pupils, (prospective) teachers and residents of the city should be able to participate in the design process in the sense of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with the aim of a climate-friendly and climate-adapted life.
The aim of the project
... is to develop a holistic utilization and educational concept for the school extension area with a focus on the as yet undeveloped brownfield site. In doing so, we want to incorporate the wishes of the pupils of the grammar school, which we have previously recorded in a participatory workshop at the school, as well as the school's requirements for a climate-adapted open space design.
