The city of the future – new supplement in the Sächsische Zeitung newspaper
The new Lili-Elbe-Straße in Dresden's Johannstadt district is a successful example of climate-resilient urban planning.
More and more people live in cities. According to UN predictions, this figure will be almost 70 percent worldwide by 2050, and even more than 80 percent in Europe. The constant growth of urban living spaces, combined with the effects of the climate crisis and demographic changes, pose major challenges for urban planning. Researchers from TU Dresden explain which strategies can be used to make cities more sustainable and fit for the future in the new special supplement of the Sächsische Zeitung, which was published on May 30, 2024.
