Seminar on Urban Planning and Local Construction Planning
The seminar deals with the practical application of the knowledge acquired in the lecture series on ‘Urban Planning and Local Construction Planning’. Here the focus is on individual planning cases. A concrete spatial and design situation is translated into the language of urban planning. The specific handling of the Baunutzungsverordnung, städtebauliche Verträge and Planzeichenverordnung is tested in practice. An optional planning game within the seminar gives the students the opportunity to communicate, present, illustrate and transfer plans which they have developed themselves. Further, new requirements in urban land-use planning are also worked through by means of practical examples. For example, regulations to ensure adaptation to climate change such as the creation of compact urban structures or aspects of ‘minimal urbanism’. International fields of application of construction planning and the management of urban development are also addressed.
The aim is to train students to design more complex (preparatory and binding) land use plans.
