The EZMG interlocking
Signalling technology in railway operations
The Deutsche Reichsbahn needed new signal boxes in order to remove personnel from the signal boxes and deploy them in other areas. The rationalization effect was particularly great on branch lines, as old technology was often in use there, requiring large numbers of personnel. This led to the import and adaptation of the Soviet EZM interlocking.
In order to preserve knowledge about this type of interlocking, the Chair of Railway Signaling and Transport Safety Technology has produced a brochure that provides an insight into the function and mode of operation of the EZMG interlocking and its external installations.
