CAMPER – CAMPus Energy consumption Reduction at TU Dresden
Table of contents
The Chair of Environmental Management and Accounting is one of four partners aiming to improve energy efficiency on the campus at TU Dresden. The overall objective is to develop an energy development plan containing measures to reduce energy consumption in the short, medium, and long term. This includes the development of an optimised energy supply strategy for the campus at TU Dresden (“Campus-Energieplan”, Eng.: “campus energy plan”), taking into consideration the urban context, the scientific monitoring of practical construction measures, as well as the testing of innovative energy management systems. The energy development plan for the reduction of energy consumption on the campus at TU Dresden includes:
- optimised energy supply
- efficient buildings
- innovative energy management
- optimised usage
In CAMPER, through demonstration projects, new findings are to be obtained and methods to be developed which may be applied in future construction projects. The Chair of Environmental Management and Accounting is responsible for the integration of an economic and ecological assessment for the entire life cycle. Further measures involve:
- expansion of heating and cooling network, substitution of decentralised cooling generators
- usage of renewable energy sources
- integration of heat/ cold/ electricity storage
- waste heat utilisation
- efficient lighting
- modern facility management
- electric mobility
- avoid/ reduce high needs of cooling in the summertime
- energetic renovation of building envelopes, whilst carefully taking into account the historical protection status
- energy shifting in buildings
- usage optimisation
- influencing user behaviour
- district heating network and autonomous cooling units
