Occupational fields in economics| May 2nd starting at 5 p.m.
In an "All You Can Ask" roundtable discussion, economics graduates will talk about their personal careers, everyday working life, current fields of activity and professional experiences. They will also be available to answer questions.
Speakers:
- Dr. Marco Weimann
...is a qualified banker, studied Economics at the TU Dresden and subsequently did his doctorate there. He works at Deutsche Bank as Team Leader Bilateral Lending Structuring (BLS). As specialists in lending, the team structures complex bilateral financing projects for both companies and real estate investors, also taking into account issues such as ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and public funding. These include investment financing, working capital structuring, financing of corporate successions and takeovers as well as financing of leased real estate or complex real estate investments.
The area of responsibilities includes, among other things, advising and negotiating with relationship managers and clients, structuring and preparing the financing project for approval in the back office, and supporting the bank's strategic trade finance and lending initiatives. -
Thomas Godalla:
...first studied Transport Economics and later Economics at the TU Dresden. He currently works as a consultant for Nortal AG on digitization projects for the public sector. His path led him through controlling, personnel consulting, market analysis and other activities to his current position as project manager. Today, he can make targeted use of his academic focus on spatial economics and political economy in both private and professional contexts. The well-known "bird's eye view" of economics helped and still helps him in the sports sector as well as in the association activities in honorary office. - Dr. Cornelius Plaul
...completed his master's degree in Economics at the TU Dresden and was subsequently received his doctorate with a thesis on the importance of palliative care in terms of health economics. He works as a consultant for economics at the Institute for SME and Regional Development in Dresden. On behalf of associations, companies, state and federal ministries, he prepares analyses on the economy, labor market and location factors in national and international comparisons, with a focus on Saxony, central and eastern Germany. He regularly gives lectures at further education events, represents associations in economic and labor market committees and is in direct contact with local companies.
