Dimitria Freitas is a Ph.D. candidate at the Chair of Economics, especially Economic Policy and Economic Research. The topics of her dissertation are:
- the (economic) determinants of populism in Western democracies,
- the influence of media bias on voting behaviour and
- place-based policies and regional labour markets.
She is interested in Bayesian inference methods, causal inference, statistical learning methods / ML, and text-as-data analysis.
