In the week from 02.05.2022 - 06.05.2022, the Chair of Information Management is organizing three coupled events to promote international teaching at the faculty. Thus, an international summer school with 24 previously online qualified e-tutors will take place, which serves the intensive examination of intercultural competencies and the supervision of international courses. Furthermore, 24 professors and lecturers from six Albanian partner universities will come to Dresden and gain insights into current teaching and learning projects as well as strategies in the field of Virtual Mobility and Internationalisation@home under the guidance of the entire team of the Chair of Information Management led by the Chair's owner Prof. Dr. Eric Schoop and project manager Mattis Altmann. Furthermore, the kickoff event of the master module "Collaboration in the Virtual Classroom" will take place during the week of the Summerschool. In this international and interdisciplinary module, six Albanian and one Slovenian university are involved in addition to the TU Dresden, working together on the case "Albania's next Unicorn", in which the groups participate in a fictitious startup competition to design ideas for a platform business model for ecotourism in Albania.
The contextual framework is provided by two large-scale projects with synergy potential:
VALEU-X – Virtual Albanian Universities eXchange
VirTUos - virtuelles Lehren und Lernen an der TU Dresden im Open Source-Kontext
At the same time, the case study serves as a test bed for the standardization of case study design, e-tutor qualification, feedback and intervention indicators as well as the development of conversational agents within the VirTUos subproject DikoLint, which is also led by the Chair of Information Systems, in particular Information Management. For the kickoff of the international case study on May 4, 2022, we are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Alexander Kemnitz, Prof. Dr. Alexander Lasch and Henriette Greulich in addition to our Albanian and Slovenian partners and thus further deepen the visibility at the faculty as well as the synergy between VALEU-X and VirTUos.
