The research priorities of the CMCB institutes are strongly interdisciplinary and range from basic and applied research in the field of Molecular Bioengineering at the BIOTEC and B CUBE to exploration of the basic understanding of stem cell biology and tissue regeneration and transfer of this knowledge into medical therapies for humans at the CRTD.

Research in our Instituts

B CUBE

B CUBE research groups are thematically situated along the scientific dimensions Biomimetic Materials, BioNano Tools and BioProspecting also examining interdisciplinary issues. In close interaction between life sciences and engineering natural phenomena and mechanisms are studied and converted into applications.

BIOTEC

The BIOTEC focuses on molecular bio-engineering and hosts top international research groups working on genomics, proteomics, biophysics, cellular machines, molecular genetics, tissue engineering, and bioinformatics.

CRTD

The aim of research at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) is to gain a fundamental understanding of stem cell biology and tissue regeneration and to use this knowledge to develop better models for diseases, as well as lay the groundwork for new diagnostics and therapies for human health.

Our partners
