Definitions, Concepts, and Criteria of Sustainable Development
Table of contents
Over the last few years the term of sustainable development has become frequently used in discussions, publications, and project titles. Sustainable development represents a model which needs further definition. Depending on the different subject matters of study, various definitions and criteria for sustainable development have emerged, which complicates an implementation of the concept. This project presents an overall view of "Definitions, Concepts, and Criterias of Sustainable Development". Different approaches towards defining sustainable development are shown, and structures to enable a better comprehension of the model are proposed, which might help to derive criteria for the measurement of sustainable development. An approach towards application in case studies is developed and concepts for the implementation of sustainable development are presented. Finally, approaches for indicators and indicator systems to measure sustainable development are proposed.
