Mika, Lydia
Lydia Mika studied mechanical engineering at TU Dresden until December 2018, specialising in general and constructive mechanical engineering in the direction of product development. During her internships at the company Mahr GmbH in Jena, department "Optics", she dealt with various tasks in the field of development and construction of subsystems of optical measuring systems, such as the automation of an evaluation interferometer.
As part of her diploma thesis at the chair, Ms Mika developed a parametric initial model in CAD for knee implants that can be adapted to individual patients. Since completing her studies, she has been working as a research assistant at the chair in the area of reverse engineering.Her work focuses on the planning and design of individual medical products as well as the associated process development and optimisation with a view to manufacturing these products using additive manufacturing.
