TU Dresden is one of the most successful universities in Germany in the early period of Horizon 2020 – the new framework programme for Research and Innovation.

Within the Erasmus+ programme an Erasmus+ Networking Forum is organized by the National Agency DAAD/Germany in cooperation with the DAAD Regional Office from 2 - 4 November 2016 in Hanoi/Vietnam.

Within the Erasmus+/CBHE (KA2) programme the TUD coordinator project "DAMOC- Development of a HArmonized MOdular Curriculum for the Smart Grid" was selected for funding.

On 25 July 2016, the European Research Council (ERC) published its annual work programme which includes the new calls for 2017.

The SESAR Joint Undertaking has launched a call for exploratory research projects on the integration of drones into civil airspace within the framework of the SESAR 2020 research and innovation programme.

On 05 July 2016, the European Commission launched three Horizon Prizes to encourage innovation and find solutions to challenges in the area of energy.

The public-private partnership ‘Clean Sky 2’ has opened the fourth call for proposals in the area of Aeronautics and Air Transport on 21 June 2016. Deadline for submission of proposals will be 05 October 2016.
