On 05 July 2016, the European Commission launched three Horizon Prizes to encourage innovation and find solutions to challenges in the area of energy.

The public-private partnership ‘Clean Sky 2’ has opened the fourth call for proposals in the area of Aeronautics and Air Transport on 21 June 2016. Deadline for submission of proposals will be 05 October 2016.

The ERA-CAPS (ERA-NET Coordinating Action in Plant Science) is to launch its 3rd transnational call for proposals for collaborative research in the fields of molecular plant science.

In May 2016 the research project "REFLEX - Analysis of the European energy system under the aspects of flexibility and technological progress" was launched. The chair of Energy Economics (Prof. Dr. Dominik Möst) of the TU Dresden is coordinator. The EPC is responsible for the project management.

As of now, applications for the programme’s second call for proposals can be submitted. The programme is looking for transnational projects covering the topics innovation, low carbon strategies, naturals and cultural resources for sustainable growth and transport.
