Supervision
Supervision Agreement
Every doctoral researcher is assigned to one of the principal investigators who serves as the main supervisor for the doctoral studies. Additionally, a co-supervisor is defined for each doctoral candidate, whereby the co-supervisor typically is a principal investigator of a collaborating research project. As recommended by the DFG and the Graduate Academy (TUD), the doctoral researcher and the two supervisors sign the supervision agreement and submit this to MGK-2DMs management within the first 3 months of the doctoral studies.
Thesis Advisory Meeting
On a yearly basis the doctoral researcher has the obligation to organize a thesis advisory meeting to present the research results of the last year. Afterwards, both supervisors will give their feedback in an evaluation form which will be submitted to the MGK-2DMs coordinato MGK-2DMs management.
Progress report
The doctoral researcher has the obligation to prepare a 5 pages annual research report.
