Integrated Research Training Group 2D Materials (MGK-2DMs)
The Integrated Research Training Group 2D Materials (MGK-2DMs) provides a structured educational training program for its doctoral students within the CRC 1415.
Currently, 54 members are enrolled in the MGK-2DMs (latest update: 04/2023)
Integrated Research Training Group 2D Materials (MGK-2DMs)
The MGK-2DMs offers doctoral students an additional structural framework, in which they can expand their competences in the areas of project management, communication, background knowledge and soft skills. The project is designed to offer several measures for scientific education, qualification training courses and key competences to assure the high quality of the doctoral studies of young researchers.
The main training elements of the MGK-2DMs project can be divided into the four sections: seminars, workshops, support and supervision. Some key parts of this program are mandatory for all doctoral researchers involved in the CRC, whereas others are voluntary and can be seen as an offer of the MGK-2DMs to support the students in the different stages of their doctoral researchers. The list includes general competence courses, monthly young researcher seminars, basic lectures, topical workshops and a summer school. Additionally, the program involves scholarships and travel grants enabling the doctoral researchers to get introduced into new subjects and to learn from excellent research groups outside Germany.
Besides the educational training of the doctoral researchers, the MGK-2DMs offers a double supervision model. Regular meetings and discussions with the supervisors will guarantee that the research progress is continuously monitored and evaluated.
Our aim is to offer a high-level education beyond the standard programs of studies and offer the doctoral candidates the chance to develop themselves and their career to a professional level based on their interests.
