Research at the Institute of Numerical Mathematics

Numerical mathematics is an essential part of the modern research landscape and is applied in a wide variety of areas. It is mainly concerned with the development and analysis of methods for the efficient and often approximate solution of various mathematical problems.

Two main research areas of numerical mathematics are represented at our institute: the numerical treatment of partial differential equations and mathematical optimization.
