New article on machine learning and differential effects of mindfulness trainings
In a recently published study by Christian Müller, Annika Konrad, Tania Singer who is head of the Social Neuroscience Lab of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, and Philipp Kanske, different machine learning algorithms were used to classify three mindfulness-based training modules based on psychological stress markers. The purpose of the study was to test whether these modules had common and specific effects on psychological well-being. Results showed that each training module had specific - but not common - effects on the different psychological distress markers. Thus, the study highlights that different mindfulness methods are suitable for changing specific distress outcomes.
