Project description

The Videoconference & Collaboration Center (VCC) deals with all supporting communication and cooperation technologies for the interaction of collaborative groups.

Due to over 20 years of experience in the field of audiovisually mediated communication, this is a particular focus of the work content. However, the suitability for everyday use of other hardware and software-based tools for online collaboration is also examined and tested in the context of the scientific environment. Here we focus on the technical and ergonomic aspects of the solutions.

As a project of the German Research Network (DFN-Verein), the VCC supports its member institutions free of charge in all the above-mentioned areas. We continuously monitor current developments and new products. Numerous networks with other working groups and independent cooperation with manufacturers help us to do this. Furthermore, continuous participation in relevant trade fairs, symposia and events is an important source of knowledge.

The Videoconference & Collaboration Center regularly holds workshops to provide information on current topics, results and trends. There is always the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the technology of the companies present.
