The Institute for Immunology
The Institute for Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus investigates the immune system in both health and disease. Our research program combines fundamental science with a translational focus, encompassing:
-
Interactions between the immune system and tumors
-
T cell-mediated autoimmunity
-
Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell biology
The institute is responsible for teaching immunology on the Dresden campus. We offer an engaging teaching curriculum (lectures, seminars, practical training) and offer attractive research topics for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses to students of medicine, dentistry, biology, and biotechnology. Through this program, participants gain a thorough understanding of the physiological and pathophysiological functions of the immune system.
