virTUos review meeting I
Summary of the virTUos network and review meeting I/2022
Thefirst virTUos network meeting in 2022 took place on January 31 in the ballroom of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics and was primarily used to get to know each other and network at employee level. In addition to those involved in the project at the implementation level, representatives from the management level and the cooperating DIU were also present. A total of 24 participants came together. The event could be held under the existing conditions of the Corona Protection Ordinance.
After an extensive reception with drinks and snacks, which provided an opportunity for initial discussions and getting to know each other personally, project coordinator Dr Ekkehard Haring welcomed the participants with further information on the program and important organizational issues. With regard to cooperation, attention was also drawn to the quarterly settlement of funds for the project (with the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education). In order to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible, each project group is asked to nominate a contact person responsible for providing information on the request for funds.
The second block of the program was followed by the welcoming speeches of the project management: Prof. Dr. Alexander Lasch and Henriette Greulich once again presented the basic idea of virTUos and went into the current status and further implementation of the project. They also discussed the website, which is still under construction but will be accessible to all virTUos employees from the beginning of February, as well as the Confluence platform, which will be used for further collaborative work.
The main part of the program was the third block, in which the attending teams presented their sub-projects under the moderation of Anne Jantos (ZiLL) and Maike Krohn (ZiLL). Each team was asked to explain their project using approximately three meaningful keywords.

The keywords presented were used to generate initial starting points, which could then be taken up in the next step in mixed teams. This gave the participants in these mixed groups the opportunity to discuss possible interfaces for collaboration. With regard to the innovation teams envisaged in the virTUos concept, consisting of three components, it was noted that there was great openness among the participants for synergy formation and that there was also sufficient interest in interprofessional collaborations.
This was referred to once again in the final plenary session. Questions that had already been discussed in the working groups focused primarily on practical implementation. How can it be ensured that there is good networking? How can ideas be concretized and put into practice? How can employees keep each other up to date on the progress of the sub-projects?
As it turned out, all project groups work under different conditions - due to the use of different media and the specific focus of the project content in each case. On the other hand, a number of similar problems were already apparent here, which can be traced back to infrastructural deficits, among other things. The overall timetable and the activities to be included in the individual project phases are not yet very clear, which is of course also due to the dynamics of unpredictable project progress. As far as the project goals are concerned, there is a consensus that there are definitely common overlaps. It will also be helpful for this discovery process if Tutoring Hybrid and sTUDents employees visit individual project teams in the coming weeks/months to look at potential links.
Regular exchanges at network meetings will also play a major role. Four meetings per year are planned, each of which will be led by a project team (in consultation with the coordinator). Anne Jantos and Maike Krohn have kindly taken on responsibility for the first meeting.
