8th Doctoral Student Days in Altensteig/ Simmersfeld, Germany (18th - 10th of May, 2022)
Recently, after a two-year break from Corona, the 8th Boysen Doctoral Student Days took place in Simmersfeld and Altensteig, Germany. A total of 47 doctoral students presented their current research results, accompanied by their supervisors. A total of 80 guests from the universities of Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, and Dresden were present. The Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group remains unique in its interdisciplinary composition and organization, alongside the funded single or double projects at the other locations.
The Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation promotes doctoral project in line with the motto "encourage and challenge", as Rolf Geisel, Managing Director of the Boysen Group and honorary citizen of Altensteig, put it. The Doctoral Student Days were held in the recently opened Boysen WELT, in the museum room. The room was cleared out for the event so that the lectures could take place partly in a hybrid fashion. After each lecture there was an opportunity for questions, while the actual networking took place during breaks and in the evenings at the Landgasthof Hirsch.
In addition to the lectures, there was also a factory tour and a model helicopter flight show. The Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group would like to thank the Boysen Group, the Foundation, and the team at the Landgasthof Hirsch very much for the successful event and the ongoing support for the projects.
