Visiting the pulsation reactor - soul of Cluster A
On August 25th, 2022, three members of Cluster A presented the pulsation reactor testing rig of the Chair of Energy Process Engineering to the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group (RTG) and interested professors. This rig carries out the core of the research work in Cluster A and specifically of these three projects.
The testing rig is used for the experimental investigation of pulsating combustion and the behavior of pulsating flows. Cluster A had promised the viewing and demonstration of the pulsation reactor (PR) for quite some time, and now finally it could be admired not only on PowerPoint slides but also in reality.
The demonstration began with a short welcoming speech by Prof. Beckmann, the spokesperson for Cluster A and Director of the Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Technology, who explained the functional principle of a pulsation reactor and once again summarized the cooperation within Cluster A on the PR investigations. Afterwards, the floor was handed over to the three members of Cluster A who regularly conduct research at the testing rig and who were happy to answer any questions that arose. Of course, the operation of the pulsation reactor under various conditions was also demonstrated, with all the measuring instruments being presented and the technology and procedures explained. What a nice excursion to the PR! We would like to thank Jakub Dostál, Stefan Heidinger, and Chunliang Zhang.
