Prof. Peter Lund visits the Boysen TUD Research Training Group
On Thursday, December 5th, 2017, Prof. Peter Lund from Aalto University in Finland visited the Boysen TU Dresden Research Training Group. The physicist was greeted in the morning by the speaker of the Group, Prof. Antonio Hurtado. Afterwards, PhD spokesman Nick Pruditsch presented the events and developments of the past year. Afterwards, the doctoral students had the opportunity to inform Prof. Lund briefly about the status of their projects. As on his first visit to the Research Training Group in April of 2016, Prof. Lund again showed great interest in the work of the PhD students and once again demonstrated his passion for interdisciplinary research through honest queries and the many helpful hints and comments he provided for each individual project. Christoph Zöphel concluded the morning with a short talk about the interdisciplinary Group project 'Stronger Together'.
A quick visit by the rector of the TU Dresden added to the excitement of the morning. Prof. Müller-Steinhagen spoke briefly about his personal friendship with Prof. Lund and expressed his affinity for the Research Training Group. He also took the opportunity to highlight the importance of interdisciplinary research and doctoral education regarding a renewed Excellence Initiative.
