Interviews on Trust in Mobile Supply Chains kicked off
On November 6, 2020, doctoral student Nassim Ghondaghsaz (project B5, Chair of Science and Technology Communication) kicked off her interviews with some prominent experts from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Due to current restrictions related to the Covid-19 lockdowns, she is conducting her interviews via video conferences.
Her qualitative interview approach is aimed at uncovering the opportunities and challenges of mobile mini-factories or modular production plants, understanding the framework of information sharing among partners, building different scenarios according to various levels of integration, and exploring the views of managers toward trust definitions and factors.
The researcher project is associated with the novel concept of a “Mobile Supply Chain”, in which the supplier´s plant can be partially transported on mobile containers to provide real-time services at the customer's location. The purpose of sub-project B5 is to investigate the role of trust in this concept, as there might be more partners involve compared to a typical supply chain.
