New associated member in the RTG
Max Vater, a graduate engineer for lightweight construction and plastics technology, has been working on the topic of "Safety-related design of safety containers for hydrogen-powered vehicles" since the beginning of February 2021. The project is supervised by Prof. Antonio Hurtado from the Chair for Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy and Prof. Maik Gude from the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology. With this project, the necessary expertise is brought together in order to develop a system that further lowers the risk of explosion from hydrogen tanks with the help of a safety container made of lightweight construction materials. On May 6th, 2021, Mr. Vater was accepted into the ranks of the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group, with his topic being associated closely with Cluster B (Logistics) and Cluster C (Use of alternative drives). The university journal (Volume 32 | No. 3 from February 16, 2021) already reported on this development.
