Prof. Lund visits the 3rd Boysen-TUD-RTG again (15.10.2019)
During his first visit to the 3rd Boysen-TU Dresden-RTG in the summer, Prof. Peter Lund was able to get a first impression of the research project of the group regarding "Mobility in Transition". He had previously been a guest of the 2nd RTG, which had a research focus on "Paths to Environmentally Friendly Energy Systems". During his autumn visit in October 2019, the doctoral students had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the renowned professor from Aalto University Helsinki. In an interactive lecture, Prof. Lund presented his research on energy supply scenarios and discussed them with the doctoral students. He paid particular attention to the role of the social sciences in a technology-based research field. According to Lund, taking social acceptance of technologies into account is crucial to enable change in all areas. With enthusiasm, he referred to the possibilities that the 3rd RTG offers in this regard for research on future mobility and encouraged the doctoral students to deal with socially relevant topics such as big data, justice, and diffusion. At the same time, he reminded them of the immense area of interest they can produce research in, because such a research training group is unique and it would be difficult to find comparable opportunities for young researchers elsewhere. He asked the doctoral students to take every opportunity to learn from each other. Not only in regards to their area of scientific interest. The Boysen-TU Dresden-RTG thanks Prof. Lund for the inspiring afternoon and is looking forward to welcoming him again soon.
