Project Day in Saxon Switzerland
On Wednesday, September 23rd, the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group organized a project day in Saxon Switzerland. At 8:20 a.m., the train started from Dresden-Neustadt station on its way to Schmilka-Hirschmühle. The mostly sunny hiking day began there with a ferry crossing. Landscape architect Verena Zapf (project D3) had planned a wonderful circular route for us over the Heilige Stiege, the Frühstücksplatz, the Idagrotte, the Kuhstall, and back over the Kleiner Winterberg. Although the almost 16 km long route was very demanding and involved a lot of ups and downs, everyone enjoyed it. During the excursion, the researchers were able to chat not only within the graduate school, but also with the professors. There was a hearty lunch at the Kuhstall and then some well-earned refreshments at a local brewery in Schmilka.
