On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, 8 members of the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group once again laced up their running shoes for the 16th edition of the REWE Team Challenge. Thousands of runners set off on the 5 km course through the streets of Dresden in seven starting waves between 5 and 8 p.m. - with a record number of 30,000 participants, this year's event was the largest of its kind to date.
TU Dresden University of Technology was strongly represented with a total of 583 runners, once again securing the title of the event's largest team. Among them were 432 employees and 151 students who completed the course from Annenstraße to the Rudolf Harbig Stadium - even difficult weather conditions with thunderstorms and heavy rain could not dampen the runners' determination. In recognition of the outstanding participation, TU Dresden University of Technology received a shopping voucher worth 570 euros, which will be donated to a good cause.

The Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group took part in the run with two enthusiastic mixed teams of four: Team Proton Pacers and Team Electron Dashers. They crossed the finish line with flying colors, placing 129th and 872nd respectively. As a humorous and ambitious interlude, some members of the second team ran in lab coats - an allusion to their path to the doctorate they were aiming for.
Whether on the track or in the lab, the Research Training Group brings energy, spirit and fun to every challenge. Many thanks to all the participants who showed what team spirit really looks like. We are already looking forward to next year!
