Educational Concept
The support of young and ambitious scientists is an important goal of the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group. Scholars receive qualifications for successful and socially relevant careers in science and industry through doctoral studies at the Research Training Group. They receive instruction not only in their own field, but they also receive comprehensive knowledge from different scientific perspectives. Through joint research on interdisciplinary issues, strategic cooperation is trained and basic understanding of other disciplines is gained. In addition to individual work, joint publications will be published and joint lectures will be given at conferences. This will also enable international networking.
The comprehensive, interdisciplinary education provided in the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group is supported and promoted by various offers:
- Supervision of dissertations by two professors from different disciplines
- Regular symposiums
- Internal scholars seminars to encourage the exchange of knowledge
- Compulsory participation in external qualification measures, e.g. at the Graduate Academy of the TU Dresden
- Participation in academic events of the TU Dresden
- Summer schools
- Scholars Days of the Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation
As we continue to successfully bring research projects to fruition, the experience of the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group grows, and our didactic concept is constantly being developed. The structured scholar education at the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group thus enables the scholars to acquire basic knowledge, diverse methodological knowledge, interdisciplinary expert knowledge, and additional key qualifications.
