FINDING DOUIRET
3. / 5. Hauptentwurf (HE 3 / VE / Diplom) Wintersemester 2020/21
The aim of the project is a sustainable revitalization of the abandoned rock city into a future- proof and liveable place for people from the region as well as from outside. Between the old rock mosque and the expansive valley at the historic crossroads of a long gone village community, a building site opens up, framed by steadily deteriorating stone ruins. As a beacon of a new version of the future, the project house is to be built here, both place of encounter and symbol of a vision. With reference to and understanding of the surrounding context, the design premise is to free oneself from the constraints of tradition in order to give the future-oriented vision a spatial appearance. This vision is thereby part of the design story and is developed to the same extent as it is presented. In concrete terms, the project consists of a sequence of utilization phases, which are reflected in a two-stage design concept: Phase I requires a timely, temporary, efficient, economic and at the same time representative spatial structure for the immediate use of the site. The concept of this structure has to be developed already having in mind phase II, in which the project developes into a permanent state that leads to the construction of the actual, permanent building.
