Excursion to the Feldberg Lake District from May 21 - 25, 2024
This summer semester, participants spent the excursion to the Feldberg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg as part of the LB 562, LM245 and LM323 modules of the Landscape Planning teaching and research area. The focus was on getting to know the special landscape and meeting local people who work in the landscape and are active in nature conservation.
The ice-age lakes, ancient forests and beautiful meadow landscapes were mainly explored on foot and by kayak. Visits to special landscape features such as the "Heilige Hallen" natural forest reserve, the Hasselförde moorland protection project and sheep farming and fishing enterprises offered a detailed insight into the work of the people in their landscape.
The module is accompanied by an experience diary that combines the participants' accompanying work on topics such as vegetation mapping, water quality studies, the narrative engagement of people with their landscape and more, with their impressions on site.

In order to capture the images and encounters of the excursion, a film documentary about the Feldberg lake landscape is also being created, which will be released here as a trailer and in fall 2024 as a full version.
