Landscape Planning in the context of specialized Planning
Seminar (part of LM220, 4 SWS, 5 cp), offered in both the summer and winter semesters
In the 2026/27 winter semester
the seminar series “Landscape Planning in the Context of Sectoral Planning” will take place every Thursday from 9:20 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. in room HÜL/O/463. The course begins on October 15, 2026.
Course Content
Topics to be covered:
- Environmental impact assessment/environmental review in the use of renewable energy
- Environmental Impact Assessment in Transportation Planning
- Impact Regulation and Landscape Conservation Accompanying Planning (LBP)
- Eco-accounts and land agencies
- Technical report on species protection law
- FFH Compatibility Assessment
Each of these topics covers the legal framework, objectives, responsibilities, procedural steps, content, methods, and work processes, as well as the interconnection of the various assessments. The theoretical knowledge gained is reinforced through practical examples.

- At least 80% attendance + 3 pop quizzes
- Statement: Answering a question (with a maximum of 1 page of handout material for seminar participants)
