Horizon Marseille—Field Trip
For our current main and in-depth design projects, we traveled to Marseille for a field trip in early October.
We spoke with local stakeholders, who showed us the contrasting areas of the commercially used city harbor, the Euroméditerranée, and the historic 19th-century harbor structures. The design aims to bridge these locations and improve the currently very limited access to the water in northern Marseille.
We also visited ENSA, the new architecture school, the Unité d’habitation, the offshore islands, and other fascinating sites. Armed with initial analyses, many impressions, and ideas, we are now kicking off the design semester.
Many thanks to Nicolas Mémain (artist / bureau des guides) and Olivier Bedu (cabanon vertical) for the fascinating insights into your work and the new perspectives on Marseille. 🏄♂️
We’re looking forward to this semester together!
