­City Land Future- Playfully discussing resources and projects

Over 100 citizens from Johanngeorgenstadt took part in the second public future workshop in the local sports and festival hall on May 17, 2025 - including Minister President Michael Kretschmer and representatives of the Saxon State Parliament and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (SMIL). We as a department presented the projects and traveled to the event together with artistic toolkit from Dresden, who created a board game for the event.
In creative formats such as the "Schwibbogen der Zukunft", accompanied by plans, or the game "Stadt Land Zukunft", the participants engaged in a lively discussion about local resources and project ideas for the city. These were based on concepts developed by students together with citizens in the winter semester 2024/25.
The project ideas and the "future newspaper" created during the semester are now on display in a store in Johanngeorgenstadt.
At times, the Ore Mountains also showed their wonderfully sunny side and we rounded off our event with visits to the Czech Republic and the local gastronomy.
