­Schulz and Schulz win competition for Sto's new innovation center

Professors Ansgar and Benedikt Schulz impressed the jury with their design for the innovation campus of the Sto Group, the market leader for energy-efficient thermal insulation, at the company's Stühlingen-Weizen site and emerged as the winners of the invitational competition with 15 pre-named participants. The task of the competition was the concept planning for a research and development center with the aim of creating an atmosphere that promotes the spirit of research and innovation. The building complex should also represent the Sto Group's leading role in the field of sustainable building products and blend in with the surrounding landscape.

The minutes of the judging panel state, among other things: "The design captivates in concept, attitude and expression and is able to convince on almost all levels of observation. Characterized by robustness, appropriateness and modesty, it is also clear and sustainable, innovative and future-proof."
